Camping and Hiking to Pantoneys Crown ’24

Overview

We are finally less than 2 weeks away from a long awaited Pantoneys Crown climb. Pantoneys is world’s second largest Canyon and world’s widest one, terrain is hard and only for advanced hikers but the view and the hike is breathtaking.

Please make sure you read Sydhikers Hike Disclaimer before you join the hike. Please don’t join the hike if you disagree any part of it or are not willing to read it.

Car Pool

We will issue a Car Pool form next week to allocate cars to each pool. Car pooling makes the journey more enjoyable as we can spend some good time instead of driving alone. Car Pooling expense (Fuel, Tolls etc) should be managed by the passengers and the driver.

Car Pool form will be published in a few days to plan the cars.

Campsite Arrival

To arrive at Dalli’s campground, 1570 Glen Davis Road, Capertee before 3PM sharp on 5th so we can set up our tents before its dark.

Dalli’s campground is a private property which we have booked for Sydhikers. This property not only has amazing campsite with good facilities but also gives us access to the starting point of the Pantoneys crown hike.

The Fun Night

First night we will have the fires going and start the BBQ. Then the songs, stories, jokes and all the fun activities. Once we are tired we can go to sleep. Disclaimer: None of us is a professional chef and its a community event, everyone will contribute to making the food.

A yummy BBQ dinner to be served at around 8P

Pantoneys Hike Plan

This is a rough plan, we will be following a slightly different route as our starting point is different, but the idea is to climb the Pantoneys from the tail. Those who are beginners or intermediate will stay behind and not do the tough and steep climb part.
